Vickie S. Carlton-Sadler practices in the areas of commercial business litigation, government and construction contracts, construction law, and product liability.  She consults with her clients on strategies aimed at business development and improvement to internal processes. She advises and counsels clients throughout the life of litigation.

Ms. Carlton-Sadler’s primary area of concentration is litigation involving construction issues and public contracts.  She has negotiated numerous types of construction-related agreements, including agreements for project owners, housing authorities, contractors, and architects.  She has also represented clients in various construction litigation actions involving claims of negligent construction, breach of contract, fraud, mechanic and materialmen’s liens, and Davis Bacon Act compliance issues.  Other areas of Ms. Carlton-Sadler's practice include defending actions on issues relating to coverage pursuant to Commercial General Liability Policies, Workers' Compensation claims, and personal injury.

In addition to litigating construction related matters, as well as general commercial business litigation claims, Ms. Carlton-Sadler also practices in the area of government contracts.  Her experience in this area includes the representation of clients in bid protests to the various federal agencies, representation of governmental authority in the development of Master Services Agreements to contract with other state agencies, vendors, and service providers for the restructuring and updating of the state's IT infrastructure and outsourcing initiatives, successful resolution of housing authority disputes, including contract matters and discrimination claims, and representation of a national firm operating pursuant to the National Defense Authorization Act containing the military housing privatization initiative for the construction of a $52 million housing project.

Ms. Carlton-Sadler earned her J.D. from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law where she also obtained a Legal Writing Certificate for additional studies in Mercer’s legal writing courses.  She earned a B.S. from the University of Alabama.  She is admitted to practice in the State of Georgia and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Ms. Carlton-Sadler is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. She currently serves as Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee for the Women’s Lawyer Division of the National Bar Association. 

Ms. Carlton-Sadler serves on The Atlanta Legal Aid Society’s Advisory Board.  She also serves as a Board Member for The Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. Ms. Carlton-Sadler is dedicated to providing pro bono legal services to the underserved community.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Carlton-Sadler gained broad experience in trust and estate planning while working for a major financial institution.
